Level 1 Agility Foundations
Class Fee $110*
Course Length: 6 Weeks
Agility Foundations is a prerequisite for all agility classes at SOTC. This class will cover ground work, target training, foundation handling skills, introductory jumping, start line stays, focus and more. Dogs should be at least 6 months old. We recommend puppy class completion and basic obedience skills including a solid recall and stay.

Level II Beginner Agility

Level III Pre-Novice Agility

Level IV Novice Agility

This class is for teams that are preparing to trial at the novice/beginner level. Dogs will be working on full-height contact equipment and should be able to complete 6 weave poles. Teams will work on proofing their contacts and developing their handling skills (including front crosses and rear crosses) on short sequences consisting of 8-10 obstacles.

Agility Weaves that Rock – Part One
Class Fee $110*
Course Length: 6 Weeks
Fast, independent weaves are a must on today’s agility courses. Teaching 12 poles from the beginning will help you and your dog to have a great skill and we will make it great fun. We will use channel weaves with guide wires. Part 1 will focus on the dog’s understanding of the obstacle, closing the poles and teaching some entries and exits. Perfect for those training at the pre-Novice or Novice level, plus anyone who has started weave training and wants to up their game.
For adult dogs at least a year old, prerequisite: foundation agility

Cue with Confidence and Run with Independence

Course Length: 4 Weeks, 1.25 hour classes
This six-week course will empower you to master a range of dog handling techniques, from confident front and rear crosses to navigating blind crosses with finesse. You’ll not only learn how to execute these maneuvers but also understand when to apply them effectively. Throughout the program, we’ll emphasize the vital connection with your canine partner and the art of timely cueing, all while fostering your dog’s independence increasing the teams connection at greater distances. This class will have handling skills and course work and will feature distractions and noise for dogs outside the ring that help create the stressful competition setting and get dogs ready for competing in noisy, chaotic environments. Class will feature ways to stress for success.

Join us in the air-conditioning for short sequences focusing on jump form. A foundations class is required, but any dog of any skill set would benefit from this back-to-basics class designed to help tighten turns and work on collection.

Contacts and Weaves – Novice Dogs

Puppies and young dogs: this your class to learn fast, accurate weaves and contacts (aframe, teeter and dog walk). Your choice of running or stopped contacts. You and your dog will learn speed and accuracy – let’s have fun!
