Specialty Classes

Tracking Class
Class Fee: $110

Sarasota Obedience Training Club is pleased to offer a Tracking Specialty Class on February 14, March 7, and March 14, taught by Denise Conrad.

Note – Participation in this class is limited to handlers who have recently attended the Tracking Seminar presented by AKC Judge Lucy Seeley, as this course builds directly on concepts introduced in that seminar.

The class will start at 9AM and be a minimum of two hours. The location is currently planned for Benderson Park.

Due to the individual instruction required for the each team it has been decided that no more than 5 dogs can be included in this class. However SOTC members are open to come and observe.

AKC Tracking is a competitive dog sport that tests a dog’s ability to follow human scent over varying distances, incorporating multiple turns and changing conditions. This specialty class will focus on strengthening motivation, developing the dog’s understanding of tracking work, and reinforcing proper handler technique. Participants will also review AKC tracking rules and requirements, with emphasis on preparing teams for entry into an official AKC Tracking Test.

This class is designed to help teams progress from foundational knowledge to practical readiness, providing guidance and structured practice in a supportive learning environment.
